The front porch used to be the portal

to our secret sanctuary

where joy flowed like dessert wine

and poured into each room.

Your side of the bed

is empty now.

Silence reigns.

You've created an environment. The front porch holds memories of how your loved one once sat with you all. The feeling that someone is gone. This is a terribly heartbreaking poem. Thanks for sharing.
