The Beginning of the End

Or the end of the beginning

---

This may not end.

Well,

it might not end well.

Well, it could start,

may begin,

is likely to achieve a middle of sorts.

Fair to middling.

All's fair in love and war,

the victor's writing the history,

even now, as I write, or speak.

So to speak.

Revisionist, recidivist,

making the same mistakes over

and over

and over

again.

Over and out.

I'm signing off here

because, you know,

it may not end at all well.

........................................

Even if you're one of the lucky ones who's finally escaped the traditionally envisioned rat race, you're still part of the capitalist way, even if you think you're not. If you're completely off-grid - are you? You still have to feed yourself and your loved ones, money still comes into the equation somehow, unless you're extremely lucky indeed.

Are you one of the very few lucky ones? Is that even possible?

Most of the world is just about making it through on the hamster wheel of life. What's important to you now? Health, wealth, the next new car, paying the bills, seeing your loved one smile in the morning? Are things better than they used to be? Worse? The same, but different?

It's a good thing we can't see into the future, don't you think?

Or do you wish you could?

I don't know.

It may not end well.

I don’t like thinking about the future.. too much anxiety arises.. trying to be more present but it’s challenging.. Really liked this piece the other day but it was late and my brain was ‘moosh’ so didn’t get a chance to comment Zivah. I feel your piece can be applied to so many things and your cover image is fascinating. Is there a right way to go, plus your rat race analogy - so the fast people can get upstairs more quickly! Hahah.
