PERPETUAL EVANESCENCE
The existential beauty of love
Fills their time and space
For no matter how fleeting it is
Empirical thoughts are grounded.
~
The ethereal beauty of their love
Filled the gaps where life can soar
For no matter it’s heavenly space
A celestial memory is imprinted.
~
The ephemeral beauty of their love
Knitted it’s way through their hearts
For no matter it’s transient moments
Traces were stamped in eternity.

This poem was written on the basis of using the word ephemeral ; meaning lasting for a very short time. But I found so many words in the dictionary that went so well with this word that I have an entire poem of interesting words.
I love to write poetry that at a glance seems just a poem but in quiet reflection can have so much more meaning. Knowing the definitions of words gives them more power. It also allows you to pair words together that contradict themselves for the sake of a love poem. Perpetual Evanescence. 🤫
We can’t hold onto love to save our lives right? But we felt it. It was there. We can’t touch it or see it, but we know it, we miss it- it’s intangible; oops, I threw in another word there!
A perpetual evanescence, never changing or leaving yet quickly fading from existence, an out of this world experience that left us grounded in circumstance. Who wouldn’t describe love this way?…
~Perpetual; never ending or changing.
~Evanescent; soon passing out of sight, memory, or existence; quickly fading or disappearing.
~Ephemeral ; meaning lasting for a very short time.
~Ethereal; extremely delicate and light in a way that seems not to be of this world.
~Existential; grounded in existence or the experience of existence.
~Empirical; based on, concerned with, or verifiable by observation or experience rather than theory or pure logic.
~Celestial; belonging or relating to heaven, supremely good.
~Transient; lasting only for a short time; impermanent.
~Intangible; unable to be touched; not having physical presence.

This was the short poem I wrote afterwards when my mind was still teeming with poetry lines. 👇
~
An evanescent love
Of fleeting moments
A transient word
Between life and death
Momentary feelings
Become fugitive space
Of an ephemeral home.
