The last time you dealt with love you got your fingers burnt

The last time you dealt with love you really didn't know your worth

Love never comes knocking where you are concerned

And I try to make it so

You're not hurt like last time

What's the penalty?

What's the prize?

The last time you left your love right down in the dust

The last time you were done with love there wasn't any talk of "us"

Love never comes calling "don't be ridiculous"

And I try to make it so

You're not hurt like last time

What's the penalty?

What's the prize?
