nostalgia stuffed in black bins, stale

holiday decor in my

mind’s basement. I’ll retrieve

them for a season—

discover they

discolor,

gather

dust.

    There is something so striking about the realization that an emotional bond might transition overtime from earthmoving to nostalgic and eventually to little more than detritus.
