Marvel the Kings

Humans worship dinosaurs, prior rulers of Earth.

By Eloise Robertson Published about a month ago 1 min read

Marvel kings whose fractured bones decorate the halls,

Graced by golden beams for children’s worship.

They whose crumbling skulls adorn our walls;

Honoured fallen soldiers' sharing Mother’s warship.

~

Admire those who lived without sin, only instinct,

Killed, survived, and gathered allies for reckoning.

Armed for Mother’s war, threat distinct,

Death approaches, but life is beckoning.

~

Ode now eulogy for those felled by the reaper,

Fury from the sky, the undefeatable.

Rulers overruled, a kingdom fallen deeper,

Further from Mother’s grasp. Lesson unteachable.

~

Sharpest teeth and toughest skin did not shield

Kings preceding us. To Mother, we will never yield.
