with eyes that show no care you push away
all love and yes you are aware to hold
my hand or embrace me when you see tears
in my eyes you just can't find it any to
heal me from cries lifeless you
walk within the shadows
that devour your soul the pain
that you have faced
could never be consoled
I watch as you fade
into a hollow shell
and how you linger
on to what you know
instead of fall into an unknown hell to kiss you
I try my best to make my love
run through your veins
but your eyes stay dim
you stay cold
and I realize I cannot free you
from your chains
darling how I want to change the way you
see yourself in the way you see life how
I so desperately want to see your smile
and let you see the light lovely mystery
I loved so dearly I lie down each night
feeling oh so weary you questioned why I
even try why I continue on with your
loveless being darling when you're in
love your hope of hearts conjoined is
all you'll be seeing

Smartystan
Flags flew freely in the summer breeze. They consisted of a gray and white human brain against a black background. Scales of gold sat just overtop the image of the organ. The sun rose at just the zenith and shared its light and warmth with the attendees to one of the country-states’ greatest accomplishments: the graduation of two women who had been in a halfway house and found their passions for art design and communications. Mala and Sheltham looked on with sunglasses and cheered the graduates. With the knowledge they had months to go before being up on that stage, they looked at each other and grinned. After the ceremony, they walked into a pizza restaurant that fit their budgets.
