Love's Deception

When Infatuation Fades and Reality Sets in

By Tamseela FarooqPublished about a year ago 1 min read

He did everything to impress her,
From his looks to his words so clever,
He made her heart skip a beat,
And swept her off her feet.

She fell in love with his charm,
And thought he'd keep her from harm,
But as she got closer and closer,
She realized he was just a poser.

The boy she thought she knew,
Began to change, his love untrue,
He stopped texting her back,
And treated her with a cold, hard smack.

She wondered where she went wrong,
And why his love didn't last long,
She felt betrayed and fallen apart,
As the boy shattered her fragile heart.

But in hindsight, she saw the truth,
He was just an illusion, a sleuth,
A boy who only wanted to win,
And didn't care about the love within.

So, to all the girls who've been hurt,
By boys who only wanted to flirt,
Remember, true love is not a game,
And it's not a prize to be claimed.

Find someone who loves you for you,
And treats you like a treasure true,
Someone who doesn't change their ways,
And loves you more with every passing day.
