Is it Love When You Keep Getting Hurt?

Breaking Free From Toxic Relationships

By Tamseela FarooqPublished about a year ago 1 min read

When someone hurts you time and again,
With their toxic behavior that's hard to contain,
Do you still call it love and bear the pain,
Or do you break free and seek to regain?

Love is not meant to be a prison cell,
Where you're locked up and treated like hell,
It's not a license to hurt and abuse,
Or a reason to make you feel confused.

If love is a game of give and take,
Why do you always feel like you're on the stake?
Why do you bear all the insults and blame,
And still hold on to the love that's not the same?

Is it because you're afraid to let go,
Or because you believe love should always flow?
Is it because you think you deserve the pain,
Or because you hope things will change again?

But the truth is, toxic love is not love at all,
It's a trap that makes you feel small,
It's a cycle of abuse that never ends,
And it's time to break free and make amends.

So, when someone hurts you time and again,
With their toxic behavior that's hard to contain,
Don't call it love, don't bear the pain,
Break free, and let love come again.
