LONELY ISLAND

Shipwrecked Love

By Wendy - Empathic TigressPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

I am a lonely island,

floating on the sea

Latitude and longitude,

don't mean a thing to me

An old bottle laid beside me,

washed up on the shore

'Twas a present left to guide me,

in the spirit of "Lamor"

I wrote my love a letter,

on a dried banana leaf

Penned from driftwood's ashes

mixed with nectar from the sea

I told him of my cruel demise,

the loneliness I felt inside

Writing with a heavy heart,

I offered him my last goodbye

I am a lonely island,

floating on the sea

I fear the world's forgotten,

all the things that I could be

I wrote my love a letter,

on a dried banana leaf

Left shipwrecked here forever

A lonely island, on the sea ...
