Like Chinese Lanterns
Romantic poem...warts and all.
curl into me, my darling, my love
weave your legs in mine like rope
that binds things together as new
as the dust settles and smoke clears
let honest and open communication
be like an autopsy of the missteps
I, me, you, we have taken
in our shared journey as one
Cast the errs of the past airborne
Like Chinese lanterns in the night
curl into me, my darling, my love
as the past fades into the distance

Thanks for reading!
Author's Notes: Thanks to Poppy for the great words that helped produce this for her Poppy's Prompts Thingo #6. Link below and all that funky jazz. Yeah, went fully romantic with a side order of getting through the downs that come in equal measure at times like the ups.

Like Chinese Lanterns love the title and it landed me here to read a beautiful romantic poem :)
I don't know how to explain how gorgeous this poem is Paul. I love the gentleness to it. Really well done, as usual!
Brilliantly written!!! Loved it!!!💕❤️❤️
G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S work Paul!
"Like Chinese Lanterns" Oh Paul I liked it! Honesty painted it!!!
The notion of honest and open communication as an autopsy of past mistakes is striking and emphasizes the importance of growth and learning together. Thank you very much and have a nice day!
"be like an autopsy of the missteps" That was my favourite line! This was a Paulitical love poem! 🍩🥐
aye aye aye, I will remember this next time an argument begins - "cast the errors airborne like Chinese lanterns" and wrap my legs around him!
This is lovely, acknowledging the imperfections, and the choice to remain bound.
Good one, Paul. These lanterns are as old as the Chinese Warring States! Poem does them justice.
This poem is beautiful and vivid.
Awwwww. Nice one! Makes up for not being able to build me a new kitchen....sort of. 🤗😍🤩🍩☕
