Lessons Learned This Year
Or rather in the last twelve months!
What are five lessons you learned in the last twelve months? Rupi Kaur's Gratitude Writing Prompts
First I wanted to say only five?
So I am going to take a dive
And see just how many there are
One year ago, seems too far!
~
Here goes though with number one
69 is a terrible age to be as it means I'm old
70 is right around the corner so I'm almost done
Okay, that's where I was at but I wasn't sold.
~
Then there was the idea of elders in the 21st century
That was much better than old people or old person
Just think of all of the things I did in maturity
I can give others the experience. My version.
~
I found someone to teach the class I taught
as I don't like teaching online. I fought
it and it won. I found someone to do it.
I couldn't teach by just sitting, it didn't fit.
~
Second, I decided to write and post too
every day like others. It is tough to do
as being away from home is a miss
doesn't publish on my phone, so dismiss this!
~
Third, writing poetry all month in February
is a big job, and rhyming from March - January
is a big deal, even if it is just on the 8th
I love it, so we will continue and have faith
~
Fourth, I discovered diabetes 3
The research behind that you see
I listened to the sugar free man interviews
on his 7 days of doctors, scientists and experts
~
Everyone from vegan to carnivore agreed
that processed foods are bad and it is about greed
sugar and corn syrup are an addiction.
I have to agree for me that is truth not fiction.
~
The part that was especially new to me
was how fructose effects the brain, you see
the science I can't explain but I believe it
and don't want to just sit
here until it happens to me next, sh-t!
dementia, the different forms
do the research and you don't need dorms
~
There is controversy about diets but the sugar thirst
is clear, so number 5 is I have given it up here!
No particular plan. I gave up decaf and chocolate first
expecting withdrawals and they were there.
Headaches, cravings, lethargy, and moodiness.
It didn't last too long but I still have tiredness.

Oh actually if anyone can learn one lesson from this bundle it is great!
Whoaaaa, those are some very good lessons! Loved your poem!
The mental anguish of trying to pick 5, would be treacle for me as well, I would probably write all the trials and tribulations down first and then pick out only a few that wouldn’t be to long to compose. Some of my “errors” are my accomplishments that I made it here today.
A lot to think about in this one. I wouldn't mind teaching online, but no college seems to be hiring as of now. By the way I do have a Master's and a Doctorate as well as a Graduate certificate.
