A Poem

I’m sorry I took you for granted

I never planned it

I didn’t mean to break you

I just wanted to take you

As I always had

I thought we were in concurrence

I never thought we didn’t agree

Then I watched you break

As I made my biggest mistake

Some words are better unspoken

Others need to be shouted

To be heard

I hurt you in ways

That never occurred to me that day

And then I made it worse

I’m glad you’re still here

Yet I still fear

There will be a day

That you will change your mind

And walk away

Yet, I continue everyday

To mix my paste

And do my best to mend this broken vessel

Will I succeed

Time will only tell

But I know for certain

You are worth the work

All of the joy

All of the pain

To make us whole again

  • I do love this concept and your words are excellent

  • Your best is all we can ask. And should it be insufficient for the damage done, may kintsugi be found for you to heal all the ensuing brokenness.
