Honor Our Heroes
Don’t get distracted from the true meaning of Memorial Day

Driving through enemy territory.
Incoming bombs and bullets.
Struggling to follow order…
Though never once turning back.
Real heroes don’t wear capes.
And anxiety won’t hold them back.
Can’t lose focus. The consequence is death.
Thank your Veterans today for their service.
It’s not easy to battle post-traumatic stress
Or live a normal life again after all that.
Never take Memorial Day for granted.

My dad was a Marine, and sometimes, I would listen to him talk about basic training and all that, and it sounded so scary. We do have to thank our veterans.
