Heartache

etching the fragments of sorrow

By Sidra AnjumPublished 8 months ago 1 min read

There are times when you can't mourn a loss—the kind when you lose a piece of yourself. Being so grief-stricken that you're unable to grieve is a feeling I've never felt before. //❤️

Trauma affects the way people bond with someone. It makes an abode within them, leaving behind nothing but a hollow chasm filled with resounding, unsettling silence.

Trauma lies between the gaps of their fingers; it lies beneath the cracks of their walls; and it leaves a burning sensation in their throat when reminiscing about the past. It lies within the circumference of their eyes as tears well up in anticipation of getting redemption from overwhelming guilt. There's something about their voice breaking up while trying to explain themselves. Trauma is a curse that resides in a hopeless romantic like me who bids farewell and lets their beloved leave, even when love doesn't.
