For the Boys

From heartache to triumph; they're finally home.

By Barb DukemanPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Most joyous of days, with the sun shining high,

Bright is the morning that asks itself why,

The happiest of times will echo the reply:

Thomas and David are finally home.

The bed and the crib enjoy being used

By the boys who are sleeping, though slightly confused.

They’ll waken and play with their toys, so amused-

David and Thomas are finally home.

Once again, as a family together we’ll live

And treat every moment as a gift we can give.

With love to another, as long as we live,

Thomas and David are finally home.

Sounds of laughter resound through the room;

The natural playtime of little boys resume.

Seeing the children happy - never too soon . . .

David and Thomas are finally home.

The heartbreak is over; the healing’s begun.

Brother with brother is creation of fun.

The elder will teach his younger to run.

Thomas and David are finally home.

A lesson is learned; a trial by fire:

To keep us together, the only desire.

Searching for justice, and truth, even higher -

David and Thomas are finally home.

The rhythm of life - a cadence of love;

Reunified family by God up above;

The celebration which I am speaking of?

Thomas and David are finally home.
