It's the idea,

The idea of 3 days with you,

The idea that nothing has changed,

between the two years,

Like we can stick ourselves back in a time capsule,

Of a cuddly haze,

The freedom to relive our brightest days,

Take me back to the comfort, I have always felt in you arms,

Or all the nights underneath the stars,

Take me back for a chance to relive in our highlights,

Though we both have changed since those nights,

I love the idea, like I once loved you,

But will it be kind to our hearts,

will it fill us up like we hope,

Or show us, how far we truly are apart,

will it remind us of our different views,

show us how we walk in different shoes,

When we talk we tend to live in our memory,

The romantic swirl we recount in our heads,

The love that grew within my homestead,

Will it be kind to our mind,

The more time we spend,

Will we be able to live and just pretend,

That nothing will change,

That nothing has,

Then I will head back to where I belong,

Which was once in your arms,

But is now states away,

A place where I made my own claims,

A place you don't fit,

And a life you aren't in,

But even if it isn't real,

I dream the idea to feel,

A hug where I can let down my guard,

A life that doesn't always feel so hard,

A world that hits just different,

From a time when you were in it,

I just want to believe the dream,

Like a coupon I can redeem,

From not another lonely night,

Familiarity in plain sight,

A connection we don't have to avoid,

A sample of our old polaroid's,

Will it be kind to our minds,

and our hearts that once overlapped,

Probably not,

But for those three days,

We can live for the plot.
