Footsteps of Joy: A Memory of Love

The feel in you

In the silence of the night

I heard footsteps, quick and light

A fleeting presence, swift and bright

A memory that still fills me with delight

It was a time of innocence and youth

A time when dreams were still the truth

When life was simple, love was proof

Of all the goodness, all the hope, all the verve

We were two, walking side by side

Our hearts and souls open wide

Sharing secrets, laughter, pride

In each other, in the moment, in the tide

But then, the footsteps quickened pace

And suddenly, I was left behind in space

Left alone, to find my own grace

To walk my own path, to find my own place

Those footsteps, they left me behind in tears

A sadness that lasted for years and years

But now, with time and healing, I can see clear

That those footsteps were a gift, a blessing, a cheer

For they remind me of a time of joy and love

A time when everything seemed possible, above

A time when I felt like I was flying, like a dove

And though those footsteps are gone, they are still my treasure trove

For in those memories, I find a happiness so pure

A feeling that makes me feel like I can conquer and endure

And though those footsteps will never come back, I'm sure

That the love and light they brought, will always be my lure.
