Dancing

But on my own

It’s easier

To fall

When you’re there

To catch me.

I’ll even try to fall.

I’d much rather

Bury my head in your chest

Than face the world

With my head held high.

I’ll hide in you.

I’d much rather

Breathe you

Than face my

Lonely empty heart.

I’ll become part of you.

I hope I don’t lose me

In your strong arms

I hope I remember how to fight

Even when you fight for me.

But I’ll know how

When I’m ready

Because every time you held me

I knew how to hold me better

Every time you saved me

You taught me how

Not to need you.
