may you be devoured, may you be consumed

at once you emerge from a mother's womb

know the cosmic feast is a karmic debt

may you be devoured, may you be consumed

.

milk froth, from her nipple liquid prana spumes

latch onto her breast, find hunger infects

at once you emerge from a mother's womb

.

give of yourself: your art, each workday commute,

love freely and realize life's parasitic breadth

may you be devoured, may you be consumed

.

the clock eats quickly your hours—impugn

not the finitude of flesh, assured one final breath

at once you emerge from a mother's womb

.

be sated at last, your body entombed,

atoms disassemble at damp earthen depths

may you be devoured, may you be consumed

.

carbon soil feeds flora feeds fauna; you are exhumed

behold, impossibility of death!

at once you emerge from a mother's womb

may you be devoured, may you be consumed

The circle of life expressed both intimately & universally in a villanelle. Well done, Morgana.

Oh.My.Gosh. This just rocked my universe. What a gorgeous description of the cosmic dance. I could dive so deep into each one of these lines, but this bit grabbed me instantly: "carbon soil feeds flora feeds fauna; you are exhumed behold, impossibility of death!" And so we continue on, into another existence. This is a special piece, Morgana. The layers here are just endless. Going to be re-reading this one several times. In fact, I would love to have this as a print for my office. Absolutely epic piece!

Ahhh. This is magnificent! Tremendous writing. So much to love about this. What I love (perhaps) most is that it is concavely complimentary and convexly cyclical and at the same time utterly grounded. If that makes any sense at all!! Well bloody done!
