cal·um·ny [ˈkaləmnē] noun - the making of false and defamatory statements about someone in order to damage their reputation.

i.e. slander: "a bitter struggle marked by calumny and litigation" a false and slanderous statement: "a change in the law would prevent the press from publishing calumnies" Dictionary Data from Oxford Languages

He said what?

That you are a nut!

I don't understand why but

Maybe it is because it is scuttlebutt.

~

Who is spreading this calumny?

Someone should take them over their knee!

Let's just wait and see

Wait and see, is difficult for me.

~

Jumping in could cause problems

Do you mean to say more troubles

Yes, my reputation is at stake

'For Petes sake!'

~

Let's say it is no big deal if asked

But it is a big deal to you. I am aghast!

Why would being called a nut be a big deal?

"It isn't if you weren't running for president," I squeal

~

Presidential candidates have been called that forever.

Well, I never!

Yes you have, don't you remember the last time?

It came from the other side, the slime!

~

We need to be more careful of the things we say.

Let them throw the sh-t? Nay nay.

That will work, it has in the past. Look where we are.

Okay, if you don't care when called a nut, so what! You are the star.

Good work and some good ideas. People should follow 'If you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all.

  • Well-wrought! Unfortunately, politricks and honesty only coincide in the way that a broken clock can be right twice a day!

  • nice

  • Great take on the challenge with a great word
