Beverage of the Aztecs photo by M.K. Brackett August 31, 2018

Ecuador born, to the world dispersed

Currency ancient, treat b’loved

Seed of the gods, bitter, sweet

Theobroma cacao

A staple well versed

Five thousand years

Chocolate

Has reigned

King

Bean

Cocoa

Fermented

Cultivar bless’d

Joy of all nations

White, ruby, to midnight dark

Beverage, spice, dessert, meal

And all the spectrum in between

O’ versatile seed, favorite snack

For Fun
