Buzz of Love

Four or less poem

Runner-Up in the Short and Sweet Challenge

A sun’s waxy heat rays

draw a line down each long limb,

gild our wet

skin on skin,

slow time,

melt shy coy

from a new

me and you.

*

This fire hot sun

pins us to dewy turf,

we fuse and set

like art

in a cast iron kiln.

A bug sits near,

calm

with no care

for your want

of my body

and my need

for you.

*

Soon the sun sets

on a slow sigh

from our lips

and the bug hums

in sync to our buzz

of lust, of love,

of what we know

will be our tale to tell,

or not,

of our past,

our now,

our for ever.

A gorgeous vignette. Utterly captivating, and the visual of the sun shining into the room and the bug correlated to carnal need -- beautiful writing. 💖
