Slather the turkey with butter smooth and creamy
For a moist breast and a skin that’s crisp and gleamy
Bread and biscuits love butter too
It’s good in gravy, soups, and stew
This culinary lubricant
Makes everyone exuberant
About your potatoes mashed,
Your candied yams, and your green eggs and ham hash
You never know what you can achieve
With a little butter up your sleeve
