Promise

An acrostic poem

Promises. The pledge we ought to refrain from. For this unfeasible

responsibility bears the weight of

owning such thingness that mere

mortal man is incapable of honoring. Such

irony between an imperfect creature and a sacred vow is unorthodox to the

sanctity bruised for my remission in the allegiance of granting me the only kept surety, that is,

eternity.

Recently my friend broke her promise to me so your poem resonated so deeply with me. I loved it!

Beautiful acrostic! It flowed so naturally.

Well-wrought! However, I might remark that it depends on what we have vowed as to whether or not it honors or dishonors our eternal grace. It may even be that the reason some promises are vain is because we have already vowed something which we cannot supersede. The bodhisattva vow would be such a thing, I believe, if it holds any literal worth; but then, so long as we honor our highest calling through the enaction of our daily needs, there is harmony. Easier said than done, of course, so I'll shut up now. Haha.

Visceral words. Powerful messaging. Skillfully scribed. Great piece 🙌🏼
