Broken, just like us

Breakup Nonet Challenge Entry

By Paul StewartPublished about a month ago Updated about a month ago 1 min read

oh, to lie and say it doesn't fucking hurt

the second greatest lie I've told

the challenge - survive the day

without you by my side

it's hard to complain

when I'm to blame

trust, broken

just like

us

Thanks for reading!

This appears to be carefully honed and therefore, lethally sharp.

I love the line "the second greatest lie I've told," oof. I feel the angst here.

Amazing entry, my friend! So. much. PAIN. here. I felt a singe of loneliness for sure. Also, I love the connection of the brokeness between trust and "us".
