60 years ago, the answer blew in the wind

The answer to when wars would end

The answer to when all people would be treated like humans

The answer to equality, justice, and peace.

-

But now we know the answer doesn't only blow in the wind

It blows in blizzards, in hurricanes

In bomb explosions and out of the barrels of guns

Piercing the skin of all those who dare to ask questions.

-

60 years later and we still chase the wind

Running after the answer

Out of breath, now that the wind has gotten faster

And still missing it every time it blows into our laps.

I’m not familiar with the song, but wonderful poem! Life does feel like we’re always chasing the wind and never quite catching it!
