She was beautiful but in the way of a sunrise.
Untouchable.
But right there in his chest like a lingering cold.
No, like the lingering mouthful of saltwater
Inhaled
Like a fool and choked on until those pretty blue eyes.
Those dazzling ocean beach eyes looked right at
Me.
Sunrise, sunset, moonrise on the horizon could never
Matter again in the face of such brilliance, such...
Sunshine.
It emanated from the solar system of life behind those blues
And radiated out like some solar storm, some kind of
Supernova
Splashing its light all across the universe, the black, the empty space.
Across me and my blank canvas soul, she is the only color.
Lazuli.
The bluest blue to exist with no trace of red or dirt or grey.
The blue of every evening sky, every happy ocean.
Blue.
She had those wandering beach eyes, fixated only on the waters.
She had those wild water eyes, those open ocean waves.
Deadly.
Oh, she could pull me out to sea and under and I'd be happy to drown.
I would be happy to sink to the floor and inhale if only to see the change of
Tides
In those perfectly violent beach eyes, blue like a stormy sea,
And still calling out, screaming out; nothing but a
Siren's call.

Your work is always amazing. I absolutely loved the style of this pairing the lines with the words set alone. Brilliant!
Whoaaa, I don't know how to express it properly but reading this made me feel like I was floating. Loved your poem!
A rather haunting, poignant poem of desire.
