Bang

He said

Trying so hard not to be triggered,

BANG,

it happened,

AGAIN.

The bullet of shame shoots out.

The bullet of anger explodes.

I pinch my arm,

thinking, it wasn’t enough.

Emotions palpitate roughly.

Imagery courses through veins.

Heart stain-glass windows reminisce.

I will never miss this stuff,

when I’m on the other side,

when I abide in the perfect side of eternity.

BANG,

the nail drove deeper.

BANG,

the crowd’s cries pierced the air.

BANG,

it was finished.

He said,

“No more fear and flashbacks.”

He continued, “You’re bought with a price,

that could not be more right,

for I am Righteous,

and now in my Father’s sight,

you’ve been made righteous too!”
