Drink the magic potion, the ice clinks

– the glass no longer half full

Inebriation the goal

– a sport you play so well

Sober realities are never much fun

– when for you

Time wasted is long forgotten

– in your

Respite from the mundane and despair

Allowing you an escape

Choosing to shut it all off

– or shut it out depending on your perception

– either way, your cares fly away

Two or three is never a big deal

– it really depends on the mood

Intoxication

Overwhelming the senses

– poisoning the mind, body, and soul

– a distraction in which over time we both become

Numb and cold.
