Alone in the halls of learning

solitude among many, invisible in the midst

Alone in the halls of learning

in crowded halls, i walk alone

a sea of faces, but none i've known

echoes of laughter fill the air

yet silence wraps me in its care

in lecture rooms and campus green

among the throngs, i'm rarely seen

whispers shared, secrets told

i stand apart, my heart grown cold

cafetaria buzzes with lively cheer

but i sit alone, year after year

loneliness a shadow, always near

in this place of learning, a silent tear

books and notes, my only friends

through lonely days that never end

in campus life, so vast and grand

i search for someone to understand
