All is True (on Instagram)
I’m inspired by instagram these days
People take loving photos of things they love
Their loved ones, everyday art
Lyrics and poetry
Make up and furniture.
Some call this design,
Its our way of mimicking the
Great Design.
They show me some art
That’s not forced or trite
Or trying to be anything than what it is: Love
It’s heart-art not High Art.
I see pictures of tiny green cactuses
That want to be roses
Echeveria ‘Dondo’
A rose by another name, something not the same
But green with little spiny swords just as sharp
As thorns.
Two dollars sure beats Rosa American Beauty.
I picked one up at Wal-mart.
The rose-that’s-not-a-rose
Now sits on my desk
Hungry for sunlight and my breath.
