Please sing this to the tune of the following video:

“Now, the Dinos of the world brought to you by Donna Fox”

There’s…..

Allosaurus, Albertosaurus, Ankylosaurus, too. Apatosaurus, Amargasaurus and

Brachiosaurus, as well. Barapasaurus, Brontosaurus, Baryonyx, too and

Carnotaurus, Cryptosaurus and Coloradisaurus as well. Then

Deinonychus, Dilophosaurus, and Diplodocus too. Now,

Edmontosaurus, Embasaurus,

Ferganasaurus, as well. Then

Giganotosaurus,

Hadrosaurus,

Iguanodon, too. Now, Inosaurus

Jingshanosaurus, and

Koreanosaurus, as well. Next,

Lamaceratops,

Microraptor, and

Notoceratops. Now,

Orthomerus,

Pachysaurus, and

Quetecsaurus too. Next,

Raptor,

Sinraptor, Spinosaurus, and Stegosaurus, too. Then Styracosaurus,

Tyrannosaurus and Tochisaurus, too. Triceratops,

Ultrasaurus, and Utahraptor as well. Then

Velociraptor, Vulcanodon,

Wyleyia, and

Xiaotingia too. Then

Yinlong and

Zuolong. Now all the Dinos are gone! Hey!

Author’s Note:

I apologize for the wordiness and mouthful-ness of this piece but I had this tune stuck in my head and thought it would make an interesting “poem”.

Thanks for reading!

OMG!! I love the Animaniacs!! I can't count the number of times I watched that silly song in the afternoons after school as a kid!

Someone had to conduct an extensive search on Dinopedia, am I right?😅

  • Wow! Like Andrea, I thought you dreamt up those names… clearly I’m no dinosaur expert.

Omgggg, I couldn't focus on your poem with that song playing in the background hahahahaha. So I had to stop it but because I knew the tune, I managed to use that to sing your poem and it was awesomeeee! You're like so freaking creative and brilliant! I started to wonder if you made up these names when I reached Koreanosaurus and Googled it. I was shocked that it actually existed but it made me realise that you misspelled it. I Googled a few other of those dinosaurs as well because I was curious how they looked like and realised there were a few more names that you've misspelled. I don't wanna list them all here because that would seem like I'm picking on you and I would never do that. But if you have the time, you might wanna double check the spelling. I especially loved the ending because it seemed like you were telling to the dinosaurs, "See ya, wouldn't wanna be ya!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Wow this was awesome, Donna! You totally captured the style, cadence, and playfulness of the original song! (Which is now firmly lodged in my brain, thank you -.-) This is easily the most creative poem I've read for this challenge! Brilliantly crafted and masterfully delivered!

Your poem is an absolute tour de force! The way you seamlessly blend the whimsical concept of a "Abecedarianosaurus Rex" with the structured form of an abecedarian poem is nothing short of genius. From A to Z, you take readers on a delightful journey through the prehistoric world of this imaginative creature, each line brimming with creativity and wit. What truly captivated me was your ability to infuse each stanza with vibrant imagery and playful language, bringing the "Abecedarianosaurus Rex" to life in all its quirky glory. From its appetite for avocados to its penchant for zigzagging through the jungle, every detail you include adds to the charm and character of this delightful creature. Furthermore, your mastery of the abecedarian form is evident in the seamless flow of the poem from one letter to the next. Each line feels purposeful and deliberate, yet the poem retains a sense of spontaneity and joy that is truly infectious. I want to commend you for your boundless creativity and your skillful execution of this whimsical concept. "Abecedarianosaurus Rex" is a testament to your talent as a poet and your ability to transport readers to imaginative worlds beyond our wildest dreams.
