A Part of My Identity
Two perspective poem from a single mother and daughter
To our unknown plan,
Yet here we stand,
Not where I saw us to meet,
For not the person I believe in you to be,
A mistaken expectancy,
Isnt the only reflection I see,
Scared where it is undefined,
Wildly unprepared,
Not far from being alone,
Not a person of who I've been told to know,
Because of you,
Yet you are my unexpected soulmate,
My gifted fate,
You've become the wings to my healing,
Growing inside, like a seedling,
A part of my identity,
From the first moment we shared in our delivery,
You are the strongest part of me,
Your eyes share a same spark as mine,
Your smiles formed by the same lines,
You are my future,
Yet you are the beginning from my past,
I am scared,
Followed by beauty behind the unwritten roads,
Places I have never know before,
But with you as my guiding north star,
Where we stand,
Is where we start,
This poem is written in the attempt of the inverse challenge, yet with the take, from the start being written from a mothers perspective, then the bottom written from the unexpected daughters perspective. It reads the same, but change your perspective on the eyes you are reading it from.
