A Lover's Delight

"Oh my Angel", you say to me,

The words are as soft as velvet dreams,

You pull me close so you might see,

The love in my eyes that always gleams,

My heart once somber fills with passion,

A world once bleak now a cheerful delight,

As you hold me in every form and fashion,

You chase away my mind's cruel blight,

What is this feeling that I feel?

Is this the joy of the Elysium fields?

A glimmer, a hope, one that is real,

If nurtured with love what can it yield?

You feel it too, don't you?

Yes, I see it burning in your gaze,

The same flame I feel flickering through,

One I imagine to be dazzling a blaze,

Oh, and for this blazing light I'll pray,

And to this tangible hope I'll reach,

So that when I gather our pyre's auric ray,

To our love's wonders you'll beseech,

Come dance with me in zealous devotion,

Be blind to those who beg to tear us apart,

Instead let's keep our sway and motion,

Together creating a treasured art,

Suddenly, a touch beckons me from my minds wonder,

One that pleads for my affectionate return,

So I choose to leave my treasured ponder,

To lay with the man I yearn,

"My Angel," again you whisper deep with pride,

Knowing your words deliciously prickle my skin,

Gently you trace the visage of your loving bride,

Then surrender to our tender sin.
