A Godless Bridge

The truth is out there.

By David AlemanPublished 7 years ago 1 min read

Hold my hand and take a chance, a leap of faith I ask

Together we shall walk the bridge and face our final task

The mighty sword I hold aloft and wave into the air

The arrows that you aim so high and send with little care.

To look at you with blood and bruise and hatred in your eyes

I realise with little thought of capturing our prize

For across the mountain, above the lake and leading to the ridge

Is the place of peace we long to hold, the place they call the bridge.

The bridge that crosses all mankind and gives us life to care

Is a bridge of harmony and soul that mankind fights to share

All of mankind with every God and every form of sorrow

Will sit again upon the bridge and prey for their tomorrow

So whoever now it can be said can hold a world together

Will seal a time when all mankind can walk the bridge forever

For when this bridge that heals mankind and makes us all as one

The time of peace and not pointless Gods will have eventually began
