A Cause for Grin

laughter is a medicine for the soul

How does one grin with such sweetness?

When kilometres of sadness have one so depressed,

How can I maintain my smiles?

When all I experience in life is sadness,

For a very long time, I was curious as to why you were smiling for so long and maintaining your grin despite difficulties.

And continue to be nice and conquer silently,

To me, it's such a mystery.

I adore you and yet I'm envious of you as you beam joyously from heaven.

But I'd much prefer have you smile at me; that makes me happy.

Despite my sadness and loneliness

Your grins transport me somewhere—I have no idea where—

However, it was you who gave me cause to smile, albeit without justification.
