What to Know About Pygmy Hedgehogs
Pygmy Hedgehogs are so cute, right? I think everyone can agree on that. But how difficult are they to have as a pet? Well, from personal experience, I can answer with an affirmative "extremely difficult"! Correct information on them can also be very hard to find as they're such an exotic pet; however, here I will outline the main things to consider when owning one of these little cuties.

What I Wish I Knew Before Getting Our First Puppy!
Yes, Yes. Puppies sure do look cute, though getting a puppy is a big deal and require immense amounts of determination and patience. Let alone the hard-earned money that you'll have to pay for their deposit for the breeder, to pay him off, getting them spayed/neutered, getting his shots, and all the food, toys, treats, crates, and accessories you'll need to take care of him. But really, it's a fun learning experience to teach, train, and befriend a K-9!

Why I Made the Switch to Fresh Cat Food and Why I’ll Never Go Back. Created with: Smalls.
It was 3 AM. I had been dreaming a nice little dream, then I rolled over and promptly woke up. Once again, my cat Molly decided it was time to throw up her dinner on my pillow and I had the unpleasant surprise of waking up with spit-up on my cheek. It was the third time this month.

How I Switched My Cat to Wood Litter
As someone who grew up with cats, cat litter was always a staple in my household. I saw litters of every kind come and go. From massive boxes of clay that I could barely lift with my scrawny arms to fancy, Fabreeze infused litters that gave me a headache and, of course, "miracle" lightweight litter that gave off more dust than could possibly be safe for any creature to inhale. Despite my misgivings about litter, and it's annoying habit of ending up all over my apartment, I always felt that it was a necessary aspect of owning a cat. Little did I realize there was a cost-effective, biodegradable solution that I could be using! I'm talking about wood pellets.

5 of My Favorite Dog Breeds
For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to work with animals in one way or another. Currently, I am a senior pre-veterinary student at the University of Connecticut, so clearly the medicine aspect won out. However, animal behavior was a close second. I really enjoy learning the personalities of different animals, and the best ways to react to and train them. Dogs and the differences between their breeds especially interest me, because every breed has some significant differences to learn about. These differences make them best suited for different types of families, and it's best to do your diligent research before deciding on an animal to add to your family.

Aging Pets Need TLC
When we adopt a cute little puppy or kitten, we generally are not thinking that at some point that puppy or kitten is going to become a senior citizen and require special care and pampering. But, the fact is dogs and cats have a much shorter life span than their human companions.
