Be the Change You Are Looking For

Become More Positive, Live A Happier Life

By Susana ShadowsPublished 5 years ago 3 min read

These days it seems so many more people are more down than they are up. They are just not happy in their lives and have no clue what to do to change things.

Every corner you round there is always someone who wants to bring everyone they come in contact with as far down as they are feeling. They are unhappy in their relationships, unhappy with their jobs... Just plain unhappy.

They sit and complain daily to anyone who will listen to them just how bad their lives are. Well I am here to tell you there is nothing in your life that you can't change.

Personal happiness starts within. You cannot rely on anyone but yourself to make you happy first. Ever have that one friend in your life that just cannot find any happiness within themselves? That one friend that has something negative to say about everyone and everything good in the world.

It gets to be exhausting to be around someone who is constantly negative. You may even find yourself going to extremes to avoid these people.

So to better my life, I have challenged myself to be happier and more positive every day. Don't get me wrong—this is a major challenge and not at all easy but, I am taking baby steps to improve my well-being. After all if I don't do it who will?

I sat down one night and took a long hard look at myself. I knew I wanted a major life change, but wasn't sure how to accomplish my goals. I began watching tons of self-help YouTube videos.

I became very interested in the practicing the Law of Attraction. I learned from these videos that like attracts like. This means if I am negative and hateful, then that is exactly the kind of energy I give off and the only kind that comes back to me.

Many things can occur in a person's everyday life that makes maintaining a positive attitude nearly impossible every day. You have to start small. Begin by doing a few acts of random kindness. You would be surprised just how much better you will feel by doing even the simplest things.

Hold a door open for someone. Smile and say hello. Help an elderly person unload their groceries into their car. Did you know that by even just smiling at people will increase your happy meter by several notches?

What you need to do if you want to change your life is simply begin by being the change you are looking for. You obviously can't change the world all by yourself. But the journey to success starts with the first tiny baby steps.

Motivation is a major key. Make a simple list of things you want to accomplish for the day. Start small and check them off and keep at it. You will be surprised just how fulfilling it is to see your goals accomplished.

Take the negative things in your life and try to give them a positive spin. This I have found is the hardest for me. Sometimes the negativity in your life isn't necessarily your own, but bleeds over to you from someone close to you.

Make yourself happy first. If you live in a negative environment do your best to distance yourself from what you can. Stop trying to be the problem solver for everyone else.

You will not find your life changing drastically overnight, but if you begin to adapt a few of these rules of the Law of Attraction into your daily routine, you will find that things start to take a more positive and happy turn in your life.

Check out the videos that YouTube has to offer, after all what do you have to lose but a few minutes of your time. You may just find that there is nothing to lose and everything to gain.
