Then what do you have, it's all about the fun of waiting😊!

Why am I writing about this right now?

Well, a very weird thing happened just a few days. I had been spending quite a bit of time writing about what I love doing, and that is, letting my mind wander freely in whatever direction it chose to take me, whilst putting together a fiction story.

In case you have not cast your eyes upon it yet, here is the link below for this story:

Everybody that I know and of course, everybody that I have yet to meet here on this fascinating and time-consuming vocal platform, will have come to both understand and expect that, putting a story together can mean devoting hours (if not days too) towards thinking up a title and an appropriate subtitle.

And that is just the beginning of it. Then comes along the whole cognitive process of planning and putting together the plot, who the main characters are going to be, and discovering how to create flashbacks throughout.

A principle to bear in mind before creating what you are going to write is to deliberate over who you are writing for. Are you intending for your masterpiece to be read by:

🧑👩 Adult readers.

👶 Babies (for example, color, waterproof) bath books for fun & learning.

🧒 Teenagers.

🧑‍🎓👩‍🎓Students (for example, educational texts.)

❕Of course, this is pretty obvious for most people but, nonetheless, it still remains an important aspect of anyone's writing still.❕

Your next decision to ponder over is:

My heartfelt thanks to readsy.com for helping me out on this one, as my brain alone hurt simply thinking about how many genres there are🤣!

The vocal platform has a current total of no less than forty separate communities to which you can submit any of your pieces of work to.

💥💥Oh, and by the way, injecting a bit of good old humor into your writing never fails to help (just as long as it is appropriately placed, I might add!)💥💥

One thing that I have observed throughout the years of my writing, is that the initial title and indeed the ensuing subtitle will most probably alter, many times over, as your story begins to take shape.

As a matter of fact, I have discovered on copious occasions whereby I have even made final title & subtitle alterations after I have finished writing the whole story, just before hitting the submit button😊!

Call me fussy, call me a perfectionist... call me whatever you want.

Important to make a mental note throughout writing your story though is to keep in mind the editing process along the way too. I quickly learned that editing as you proceed along the course of your writing definitely pays dividends in the long run too for two valuable reasons.

1️⃣ It saves time at the end of your writing having to edit the entire article if you have already edited along the way.

2️⃣ And the best bit? Publishers are more inclined to publish your work without any hitches if it is punctually & grammatically correct in the first place too.

I prefer to use Grammarly to support me along the way. But each to their own. Everyone has their own ideas and preferences when it comes down to editing their work.

After your work of art, which by now you will be pretty proud to have completed, gets to be submitted by you at long last.

Then comes the long-anticipated and anxiety-provoking wait to see if it gets published.

This brings me to want to thank vocal for their recent activity that I truly believe needed to be shared here with you all.

Out of all my published articles that I have submitted here on vocal, my latest piece entitled, 'New Beach Project: Platform Delta,' was indeed accepted and published by their team of editors (drum roll please) in an astonishing whirlwind of just 28 seconds after I had simply submitted it😲...

Yes, I did say that!

TWENTY-EIGHT SECONDS!

Surely, that has to be one to go down in the record books?

THANK YOU vocal😊.

What is important with any of your articles is re-edit, re-edit, re-edit. What you do as you go along may not be reflective of an ultimate "great article". It is important that quality is not compromised by quantity. It is better send your article later, having sat on it for a few days without reading it, than be rushing to send it in. When you write any first draft, the recommendations from many sources are crash every car, drive over every bridge and burn every building. Writing your perfect final draft is not like copy-typing a business document, which still needs a final proof read. Fast acceptance of an article beggars the question, are the articles subject to any scrutiny?

I complained about Vocal taking too long to publish, now i am complaining that they are doing it too fast. Do they really read a story for everyone in under 30 seconds. Hmmmm. I enjoyed reading the story.
