5 Weight Loss Tips That Require Zero Exercise

That's right, now you can Netflix your way to weight loss...

By Chelsea SwiftPublished 4 years ago 6 min read

Well, well, well....you couldn't stay away...

...from the cookies, the pasta and that weird dip you made last night.

What? You thought I was going to say you couldn't stay away from the best blog on the internet, that's a given babe because I know I will see you next week. Bring your chardonnay-hay.

Today, I'm talking about the cookies you need to hide from yourself like immediately.

Yup, remotes down, cookies up, those can now go in the veggie drawer you never visit and as a pro, if you hide it when you are buzzed you're more likely to forget it exists. (RIP weed stash)

First of all, I've been there. Having lost 50 pounds myself, I can tell you the only thing worse than trying to lose weight is working out JUST so you can eat or drink.

I literally used to do that and it's not worth it for a variety of reasons the main one being you did all that for nothing. Yup. You are literally better off not doing that cry run thing and here's why...(insert post workout drink)

You don't need to exercise the way you think you do to lose weight. Sure, exercise will ASSIST in weight loss, but the weight comes off in the kitchen.

I know, I know, but you need to hear this through reading.

It's actually not just abs that are made in the kitchen, butts are made there, your skin is made there, your arms are also made and manufactured in there, you see where I'm going with this? Unfortunately, the kitchen is the main supplier of your body.

Again, I wish it weren't true either but these are the facts.

What you put in, shows up. In life and in your body.

Yes, even the 1 smoothie a day that you don't think is helping, is working.

So let me help you work SMARTER this time around and not harder. Aka skip the run that's just going to make you think you earned another meal and follow me.

Our Fast Five Tips (my podcast listeners know) Drops Now

#1. It's Britney Betch? No, It's Chelsea Swift and it's TEA TIME, tricks.

Okay, let' spill this tea....forget the skinny "fitspo" baby belly tea diets and just buy your favorite tea (preferably one with green tea in it) and drink it three times a day. That's it.

If you've never been on a tea-tox, that is literally all it is.

I'm not kidding. There is literally nothing special about those "skinny tea diets", you are literally drinking tea three times a day and trying not to make eye contact with carbs.

So, let me help you out: start drinking tea three times a day. That's it. Don't take anything away from your diet, don't get weird with food, just add some tea to your day (Morning, Afternoon and Night).

It will boost your metabolism, circulate your blood, balance your PH levels, hydrate you like a MF (working on my swearing) and yea, it's super calming for your nervous system, go enjoy that tea while you spill it, boo.

#2. "Gimme That Vitamin D" - Beyonce

Sometimes I say that to my fiance to spice things up and then he just hands me the vitamins.

Anyways. You need vitamin D, but more importantly, you need it from the sun.

I know, I know everyone put your SPF lotion guns down for a second, while I explain to you that you are basically a plant with more complicated emotions.

You NEED (literally) 20 minutes of natural sunlight a day.

That's why they made the vitamin. (small bulb sparks) That's why you feel smaller on vacation and in the summer. (light bulb starts pulsing) That's why you FEEL better on the beach, it's not just the waves and mojito's babe, it's the actual sun rays. (hash tag, it me, make sure you tip if you've made it this far)

So go outside, lay in the window like a cat, but get some natural SUN on your face and body. It will heal you.

Literally. Ancient societies knew how to use the sun to heal a variety of illnesses to clean the blood of various pollutants and microorganisms; in short, the sun penetrates your skin to clean your blood.

Don't ask how I know things, just know who ever views my Google searches is like...

...on a daily basis.

# 3. Hotter Than The Sauna

No, I wasn't talking about me but I agree with you so thanks if you thought it. Anyways, your shower needs to be hotter than a sauna, like for real. This is how you steam yourself to a flatter / less puffy body.

Make a hot bath, make a steam shower but whatever you do, you need to steam it out at least once a week to really reduce inflammation.

Ladies, fellas, go getters, you can lose actual pounds!!

Not just that, you lose all those unhealthy built up toxins in your body that make you tired, hungry and lethargic. So it's like rebuilding your body without moving which is amazing news for us non-exercise people, so when in doubt: steam it out for 20 minutes, make it hot, make sure you sweat and you will see results.

Want faster results? Do a hot detox bath (hot water + Epsom salt= 20 minutes or more) every day for 30 days and and you glow skin glow glow.

#4. Sleeping Beauty Got It Right

Fact, you are nothing without sleep.

I actually dated a guy once that tried to tell me the human body only needs 5 hours of sleep and I was like, please leave my apartment and proceeded to have the best 9 hours of sleep in my whole life.

So sleep is not for the wicked, it's for the wicked good looking.

And no one has time to spend their beautiful youthful skin on boys or a night out looking for them. In short, you NEED sleep.

Not fake sleep. Not "lets get drunk and sleep".

You need a really REAL good nights sleep, many nights in a row to see results. If you want to lose weight tell your friends, be like listen, I can't go out I have a date with a down feather and I'm booked for the rest of the month to secure the crop. Trust me. When you look like a glowing refreshed angel this summer, you will thank me.

Drink some tea. Get some real sleep.

#5. One a day = keeps the weight away

I made it this far without telling you to lift one weight or eat any veggie stick so you can hear me out on one food related topic.

1 healthy meal a day. That's it. Make it your MISSION to eat 1 healthy meal a day. It can be a shake, a protein "nice cream" bowl, an egg white omelet with spinach and tomato, a tuna fish salad, grilled chicken salad, tofu salad, but it has to be HIGH in protein and LIGHT enough for your body to easily process; so anything light, healthy and nutritious.

P.S: I'm giving you a free game here so make sure you play clean.

Last but not least, let me give you a little weight loss advice, it's not the lack of exercise, it's not even the lack of calorie counting, it's the lack of consistent healthy meals going into your body every day.

You can absolutely eat, you should eat, you can even have foods you love (that are not even healthy) in smaller portions, but what you eat every day is what actually makes or breaks your weight loss.

Yes. Every day. Not every other day. Not Monday and Wednesday. It's your every single day meals.

It's not the shake you had three times this week, it's the 7th high sugar coffee killing those shakes, it's not the bagel you're having for breakfast that's adding up, it's eating pizza right after it, it's not the stir fry you ate for dinner, it's the low protein count in that stir-fry that made you grab the 2nd bowl.

The truth is, health is about a feeling and the only diet that works is the one you will actually commit to doing every single day. Not just Monday- Thursday, but every day. Yes, even Saturday, even on Sunday. So, give these real deal health and wellness tips a try! I guarantee they will make you feel lighter, more energized and inspired to take on that 1 meal a day challenge. I know, I love you too.
