Shouting It Out To The World

Publishing books can be fun when you finally see them up on sale. But write from your imagination NOT from Artificial Intelligence

My question is, are you a writer?

Simple answer, isn't it?

But hey, of course you are, otherwise, why would you be on here?

Okay, maybe you are on here simply because you enjoy reading alone but over time as you read more and more, has your reading even spurred you into wanting to write?

Yes?

Because I am not surprised that it has. Everything that you do in life always leads to something more, something greater.

As MasterClass (published on 1st December 2021) stated, "aspiring authors who develop strong reading habits will learn a lot from the books they consume. Try “reading to write” as a way to discover creative writing strategies, word choice strategies, and syntax control that can supplement your own writing skills.

"If you aspire to be a great writer, you’ll gain mastery of your craft, in part, by reading extensively. Aspiring authors who develop strong reading habits will learn a lot from the books they consume."

MasterClass. Why Is Reading Important to Writers?

So, as you can see, the more you read, the better prepared you will become should you choose to venture into the world of writing.

I am writing this article for a very specific reason today.

To make a point.

The point is that anyone can write if they really want to.

But no, I do not mean you to go rush out and use an Artificial Intelligence (AI) program to do the writing for you. Hell, that is not what writing is all about, no, using AI, that's cheating.

Using AI to draft your story or article is cheating, not only is it cheating your readers, but it is cheating yourself too.

Don't fall into that trap because that is in no way, shape, or form, what writing is all about.

I used to enjoy writing stories when I was a child living at home but sadly, as I grew up, my career began to take over what had been so enjoyable to me up until that point. So, for 32 years, I never put pen to paper again (or as technology improved, maybe that should have read 'finger to keyboard.')

Anyway, after contracting Covid-19 in 2020, and plenty of time in the hospital to boot, I discovered that returning to the workforce just wasn't on the cards following earlier mild neurological disabilities that the virus had severely and negatively affected.

That was where the changes took hold.

I began yearning to pick up writing all over again from that place long ago, that I had left it in.

So that was precisely what I did too.

It is early days still, but I have been writing articles and short stories here on the vocal platform, and across on medium too, which has proven to be a fantastic and worthwhile therapeutic experience to engage with.

As you see now, I have an author page set up on Amazon which currently displays two books on to date.

  1. The Short Sight of Fear: The impact of rape trauma upon the daily life of a young woman (Kindle Edition.)
  2. A Collection Of Flash Fiction Shorts: Nine short fictional stories to immerse your imagination and entertain you (Kindle Edition.)

Both these books can be purchased below from my publisher page below:

And yes, I authored them, NOT an AI bot in sight, and there never will be ever.

Being able to see your work published and on sale for umpteen people to view and purchase can be a wonderful feeling of self-achievement. But I ask you this one important question to you all:

"Would you feel the same sense of self-achievement, that same wonderful sense of satisfaction or having written your book, if you had simply allowed AI to write it for you?"

Remember this because it is important for every writer.

"True writers open their hearts, their minds, and allow their imagination to let those words start to flow, AI doesn't have any of those, it has logic circuits that was programmed by us alone."

"Or why not come and chat with me over on Medium too, where I also write too?" You missed a trick here! Better to use "too" just once in this sentence. It could read better without using "too". See what you think: "Why not come and chat with me over on Medium, where I also write". "Why not come and chat with me over on Medium, where I also write too". I think you could leave out "too" altogether. You're making a statement, not asking a question nor a rhetorical question. So you don't need a question mark at the end of the sentence.
