Our Spontaneous Cheese Poetry on Date Night
“Poets have been mysteriously silent on the subject of cheese.” ― G.K. Chesterton, Alarms and Discursions I watched the moon shine brightly this evening through the window of our car. It was day one of two days of travel and the shortest day of the year. ( I wrote this in December 2023). That meant we were traveling mostly at night. The main thing was that we arrived at our first destination and managed to go to sleep, all five of us.

The Unrequited Love Of Sophia
Sophia had always been a hopeless romantic, with a heart full of love and a soul that yearned for connection. She had given her heart to many, but none had ever captured her attention like Alexander. Tall, dark, and handsome, with piercing blue eyes that seemed to see right through her, Alexander was the epitome of perfection. Sophia met Alexander at a charity gala, where they locked eyes across the room, and she knew in that instant that she was smitten. For weeks, Sophia couldn't shake off the feeling that she had found her soulmate. She would catch glimpses of him at social events, and her heart would skip a beat. She would find herself lost in thought, replaying their brief conversations, and wondering what it would be like to be with him. Sophia's friends would often tease her about her infatuation, but she couldn't help the way she felt. She was drawn to Alexander's confidence, his sense of humor, and his kind heart. As the months went by, Sophia found herself falling deeper and deeper in love with Alexander. She would send him flowers, write him love letters, and even show up at his favorite coffee shop, hoping to catch a glimpse of him. But despite her efforts, Alexander remained oblivious to her affections. He would smile and chat with her, but it was clear that he didn't see her in a romantic light. Sophia's friends would tell her to move on, to find someone who loved her back, but she couldn't bring herself to let go. She loved Alexander unconditionally, and she was willing to wait for him, no matter how long it took. As the years went by, Sophia's love for Alexander only grew stronger. She would attend his social events, cheering him on from the sidelines, and celebrating his successes as if they were her own. She would send him care packages, filled with his favorite treats, and write him letters, pouring her heart out onto the page. And although Alexander never reciprocated her feelings, Sophia didn't let that deter her. She loved him for who he was, and she was content to be a part of his life, even if it was just as a friend. One day, Alexander found himself in a difficult spot, and Sophia was there to lend a helping hand. She stood by him, offering words of encouragement, and helping him through the tough times. And as they stood together, Sophia realized that her love for Alexander wasn't about getting something in return. It was about loving him for who he was, without expectation or condition. In that moment, Sophia knew that she had found her true purpose. She would continue to love Alexander, unconditionally, and she would do so without expecting anything in return. For Sophia, loving Alexander was not about getting love back; it was about being a source of love and support in his life. And as she looked into his eyes, she knew that she would always be there for him, no matter what.

How does it feel to be loved?
Recently, I stumbled upon a TikTok trend where girls shared slides of their conversations with their loved ones. It began with, “No one could handle your words of affirmation,” and the rest of the images left me teary-eyed, knowing that people out there are loved that much, and some others have a love that is so sincere it defeats.

Two Tales of Rebirth
Emotions come and go as waves of the sea. We can’t say that one form of emotions last forever, but of course, there are different forms even to a sea wave. Some are short, wispy, and just enough to tingle the blissful nerves. The milky form turns your soul butter yellow with a dash of white. Big fabulous waves some days and you decide to surf in the sun. Some days the waves look peach and you take pictures. The other day sea brought so much joy, you decided to throw a birthday party on the beach. Some days the sea is calm; and in rainy days the waves are rough you’ll drown so you avoid the sea at all costs.

Cuddle Comfort
Cuddle Comfort, What’s That? So, what do I mean by “cuddle comfort” exactly? If you take it literally, then it can seem like it is a bit obvious. However, it’s not always a physical act or state of being. Cuddle comfort is just an act, touch, or anything really that gives you that sense of comfort or security in the moment. These moments usually even bring some form of clarity as well. That’s the simplified explanation of what cuddle comfort is; or at least in regards to how I refer to it and what I refer to it as.

Heart of a Champion
In the small, quiet town of Maplewood, the afternoon sun cast long shadows across the backyard of the Thompson household. Ten-year-old Alex was playing a spirited game of tag with his younger sister, Lily. Their laughter filled the air, mingling with the chirping of birds and the rustling of leaves. Suddenly, Alex stopped, clutching his chest. His face turned pale, and before Lily could call out for their mother, he collapsed onto the soft grass.

An Unique Experience
Yesterday I went to a tantric speed dating event. A good friend of mine roped me into this because he is recently joining the dating world and claimed to be seeking moral support. In truth, he thought my reaction to such an event would be hilarious and if he brought a friend then he would save $15+ off the initial ticket price.
