Movie Review: 'Friend Request'
Friend Request is yet another failed attempt to combine social media and horror. It really shouldn’t be that hard to combine the two when you consider the daily horrors that social media enacts upon us when we simply pick up our phones, but filmmakers have thus far made the combination look impossible. Social media has numerous innate existential horrors that could be exploited by a smart filmmaker but the question seems to come back to how you can exploit that for a body count and so far no one has been able to pull that off.

'Twin Peaks' 2017: Laura Is The One
It's been a hell of ride since the finale of Twin Peaks: The Return. Watching the two-parter live was unforgettable, a bracingly raw emotional experience that ran the gamut of thrills, laughs, unbearable tension, heart-warming resolutions, head-fucking narrative turns, and a horrifyingly fatalistic ending. I was so bewildered and overwhelmed, I could hardly speak for hours afterwards. There was so much to take in, to try and make sense of; much of Part 18 in particular was very open to interpretation, and what I felt was being implied was pretty tough to swallow. After everything he'd been through, why did Coop suddenly feel he needed to 'save' Laura? Did he break reality in the process? And what did those closing moments mean - with Coop seemingly lost and Laura more traumatised than ever, had the Black Lodge attained some nightmarish victory?

Who is Draco Malfoy?
Over the years, the Harry Potter fandom has conjured up many different theories, like Professor Snape being a vampire or Sirius Black and Remus Lupin being secret lovers. However, with little evidence supporting these theories many of them have been contradicted by not only the Harry Potter book series but by the author J.K. Rowling herself. Be that as it may, one theory that has yet to be disproved, is the idea that Draco Malfoy is, in fact, a werewolf.

Movie Review: Blue Velvet (1986)
This is essentially what we all worry suburban America will be like to visit, even now; slightly odd, over-the-top and addictive. The narrative is staunch and absurd, but regardless to our pre-conceptions and hearsay about this famous flick, it only reinforces the opinion that Lynch is a master of film.

Movie Review: The Lost Boys Turns 30
The Lost Boys turns 30 years old this weekend, July 28th, 2017, and the movie has not aged well. While it’s not quite the embarrassment that was the Twilight movies, The Lost Boys is bad in its own unique ways. While nostalgia might cloud fans of the Coreys’ first team up (Haim and Feldman for those aren’t fans of Tiger Beat circa 1987) the reality of The Lost Boys is that director Joel Schumacher is an epically bad filmmaker and teamed with a cast of not ready for primetime teenagers, and a minimal budget, Schumacher’s modest talents are entirely overwhelmed.
