The After Novels

A Review

The Anna Todd series

I've never read the Anna Todd series she wrote, but I wonder sometimes are some author's welcoming the thought of emotional and verbal abuse in relationships? Is Anna Todd saying to her fans is this how girls should be treated? Romanizing abuse.

Making a far point as a teenager I thought Edward was sexy but he was very controlling to Bella. He never really gave her a choice until she became a vampire. That's just an example.

There are a million different ways to write a character, or meet cutes why make it seem romantic to use abuse of any kind.

I don't know if I understand this.

Okay in Chapter 82 in After how can you just slide right in and not move with your girl in pain already. I mean come on, she is already in pain because she is a virgin and you are just looking at her dumbfounded.

How do you write something like this and say it's for teenagers? Okay this is for adults but then again if Anna Todd can write like this why not other authors. It's not like teenagers don't know about sex.

But come on why are you considering this to be romantic, the book After mind as well called Abuse. Both Hardin, and Tessa are both abusing each other.

I just don't understand this, guess it's truly a love hate relationship? It's unclear to me, although I give the first time Hardin takes her virginity in great detail a thumbs up. But come on really if someone is going to take another's virginity you don't just sit there practically and say, "this is going to hurt just tell me if you want me to stop?" come on really! How can you just say that and make it sound romantic at the same time? This is so not romantic, this is a seduction and a bad one at that.

After Tessa loses her virginity the bloody sheets are taken as a trophy to show that Hardin won the bet.

I just don't understand who does that!!! Who makes a bet to takes someone's virginity? There are no words to understand this in my eyes as both an author and a reader. This is by far the worse book I've ever read, ever since I read the book Forever. When I read the ending of Forever by Judy Bloom, I tossed if across the room and gave it to my aunt Lesley.

I think the books After are worse then that only book I ever read by Judy Bloom.

I have heard the review of After by my favorite YouTuber Amanda the Jedi. She loathes it as much as I do.

Seriously how can you just use sexual bribery to manipulate someone into what you desire. First you want her to do something for you, just listen to me then you get to make love to me. Come on this isn't love this is sexual bribery, and seduction. He looks at me with Lust in his eyes, okay given that lust isn't a bad thing the way that Hardin looks at Tessa and wants to control her that's not a relationship.

Tessa thinks this is a relationship but it's not.

How can she think like this? Is this some kind of sexual fantasy of an older woman wishing that Harry Styles would treat her this way? That's what it looks like to me. How can anyone justify these kinds of relationships? Part of them has to believe this is a normal relationship. Come on, this isn't normal. I seen the movies, and they are even unrealistic, but so is fifty shades of grey. Sorry E.L James but someone has stollen your ideas.
