“Order! Order!” quacked Grand-Maester Drake, “We’re h’aware tis a… h’vexed issue.”

“They’ve ‘ad top foragin’ fer weeks,” protested a mallard.

“We need to bulk for migration,” retorted a wood-duck.

The cacophony of dispute resumed, terminating again with cries of, “Order!”.

“I propose,” the Grand-Maester declaimed, “there be h’additional foraging for the wood-ducks, then h’extended foraging for the mallards. H’All in favour.”

A rustle of wings affirmed the motion.

............................................................................

The gentleman perched on his customary bench, flicking crumbs to the ducks. He couldn’t be certain, but it seemed there were more wood-ducks today. But who could really tell, with ducks.
