Drabble Drop : Spiritualise
Bedridden for the last three years has been a challenge for poor Alastair, but he’s come this far and intends to continue the fight. He has lived longer than the initial prediction.
A nurse comes in once a day to assist him with his hygiene needs, cooks his meals, gives comfort and helps with anything else he needs. Other than this kind soul, Alastair is alone.
Illness and solitude has done much to exalt and spiritualise Alastair’s mind.
Now he just needs to ensure nobody finds out there’s nothing actually wrong with him, he just adores the pity and attention.
I was challenged to write a drabble of the word ‘spiritualised'.
Wikipedia defines a drabble as follows :
A drabble is a short work of fiction of precisely one hundred words in length. The purpose of the drabble is brevity, testing the author's ability to express interesting and meaningful ideas in a confined space.

The Harvest
Koyi wobbled to her shabby wood and straw kaz, holding her machete and an old burlap bag with some yams. Someone had laid another basket in front of the patched up door—rose apples today. They were a bright reddish pink, looking waxy and crisp, just the way she liked them. The culprit knew her very well. Those would be crunchy, juicy and sweet—she could tell—but she gathered all the will she could muster and pushed the basket aside to enter her home. She had already said no repeatedly and would not be taking bribes.

The dog waited for the master who never returned.
In a little town between hills and pines, there lived a dog named Max. Max was not just any dog; he was known throughout the neighborhood for his loyalty and gentle nature. His days were spent chasing butterflies in the meadow, greeting passersby with a wagging tail, and most importantly, eagerly awaiting the return of his beloved master, Mr. Thompson.
