Grits and Oranges-

Stuck in a homeless world you have to wonder on the day to day bases. What are you eating tonight? The city and local charities fight to get all vitamins in you on a daily bases. Thinking about what to eat should never be the worry. I was at this one shelter through pandemic times, actually a little after. I got served an normal, but unusual dish like you wouldn't believe. It was breakfast time in Pittsburgh the place would prefer to stay anonymous. I had just turned Twenty-Eight and could not believe that the girl was getting back with could leave me on the street. She said there was an emergency, than when I got there she had left with her ma to go to another part of America. Shocks me still to this day. As the saying goes "Back to the Grits."

Grits-

Nutritional Facts-

* Being under the USDA with one cup we have one-hundred and forty-three calories. Total fat being at a half a gram and from that saturated at point one gram. With no cholesterol and sodium being at five-hundred and forty milligrams. Having fifty-one milligrams of potassium for your everyday diet. At your total carbohydrates you have thirty-one grams and out of that you have zero point seven grams of dietary fibers, plus point two grams of sugar. Last, but not least protein being at three point four grams.

* With vitamins being at an equal to ten percent on a daily value. We have iron being two percent of those. Than, vitamin B6 at five percent. With Magnesium finishing it at three percent of a two-thousand calorie diet.

How they are Cooked-

*Grits are made from corn that has been grounded, but normally you can find them at the store pre-made and in the box and fried. To find more ways go to the links below.

Nutritional Facts-

*Being under the USDA with having one small(2-3/8") orange in our hand we have at the two-thousand calorie diet. There is forty-five calories in it. With total fat being at point one gram and no saturated fat. Having over three times the amount of the grit in potassium at one-hundred and seventy-four milligrams. Total carbohydrates being at eleven grams and from that dietary fibers being at two point three grams, with sugar at nine grams. Finally having protein with in it point nine grams.

* Vitamins being a very important part of our life we have. Eighty-five percent vitamin c with in it. Five percent of it being B6 and two percent of it magnesium. Three percent calcium, with no iron, vitamin d or cobalamin.

How to prepare it-

*Wash orange thoroughly and start to peel with a small sharp knife or peeler.

With the beautiful morning breakfast being mixed it helps your day go by. While you add a drink or coffee with it you can feel better about your life and start to your day. Feeling nourished, strong and brighter. I hope with all my soul, hopefully after every Food for our Life as we pass each day by I am able to find stuff old and new for your enjoyment.
