Kindergarten
Kindergarten is the grade that a long time ago was not really required to send children. I was one student that did not go to Kindergarten. At one time it was only a half day program with two classes a morning and/or an afternoon class. Kindergarten teachers were the first to really get into the serious academics of learning with reading, writing, math skills and even science and social studies/life skills.

Day Care
At one time I was a Day Care Assistant Teacher for young toddlers. It was a blast. Day Care is a chance for very young and young children to gain the proper socialization skills needed for when they reach the age of primary schooling. Academics mainly entail letters, number, basic shapes and colors, and maybe learning to read pictures.

The Month of July
July the first true month of Summer even though Summer starts on June 21. There is our Fourth of July holiday and on July 1 Canada Day. The first is also my birthday. It is the month of picnics, going to beaches, barbeques, etc. Just a fun month and still show appreciation to all veterans.

The Month of June
Ahh, the month of June and all the warm days and nights to follow. It is the month of graduations from all levels from preschool through college and some even from graduate schools. June is also the month that some summer jobs may start. There is the Father's Day holiday in this month.

April
April to me is one of months of Spring. It is a month of sun but mainly rain showers or even at times thunderstorms. You remember the old saying "April showers bring May flowers." Depending on where you live some May flowers have already bloomed and hopefully will continue to bloom. There are some years that Easter would fall during this month, but not thi year for Passover is the only religious day for the month and no other holidays.

March
The third month of the year and depending where you live in the country it is either snowy or rainy. In the South it is usually damp and rainy and just sort of drab. Where I was raised it is usually snowy and cold. There is St. Patrick's Day and this year at the end of the month was Easter. Other religious days were Palm Sunday and Good Friday. It also had the clock change of Daylight Savings Time.

February
Oh, the month of February. What to say about it. It is the shortest month of just 28 days unless you go every four years when it is 29 days thanks to leap year. There are holidays like Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day. Two days one for love and one for good luck in maybe finding that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

January
January has come and gone, but this idea for a series just came to me the other day. January the first month of a new year according to the Gregorian calendar that we follow. Happy New Year! This is the month that we all try to do better in all the different aspects of our lives from our health both physical and emotional. We also try to better in our professions and just trying to be better people.

Saturdays
We all made it it is Saturday. This is the sixth day of the week and the real start to the weekend for me. This is the day when most people go to ball games of some sort during whatever season it may be. Spring is usually baseball, Summer could be just about anything, Fall is of course football and winter could be hockey.

Wednesday
Wednesday is what people like to call 'Hump Day'. It is the middle of the week and now it seems that everyone is looking for to Friday and the weekend. One must try and enjoy all the days of the week not just the weekends. There is joy to be found in all the days of the week. You just have to try harder on some days.
