Art
"Home"
"Home" at the Todd Haimes Theatre was originally brought to Broadway in 1980 after a stint at the Negro Ensemble Company the year prior. Written by Samm-Art Williams (who died just before previews begun), follows the life of Cephus Miles (Tory Kittles) as he moves back and forth in his life from the late 1950's to the present. As people move away from Cross Roads, North Carolina, a farm area, workers are difficult to find, family members have passed, but he loves the land;" loves the black sod beneath his feet". Even though he works in a mill during the winter months, he lives for the days that he is able to work the land. From tobacco, corn and other crops, this is what gives Cephus the most pleasure.

Mowing
How old is too6 old to expect the younger generation to start taking over lawn mowing chores. I like cutting grass, but at 60 years of age and cutting grass since I was 12 years of age it does seem to get old at times. Lawn care does make your yard look good when keeping the weeds down and planting flowers, especially roses and a few others. But, in very hot and humid conditions it is not a chore that I relish doing every week.

Owls
As you notice what I assume are owls are colored with peach on all four corners of the page. Other colors I showed to offset the owls were purple, greens and in the center for the small border brown. I used forest green for the center point of the owl corners as well as in the center of the page to go against the brown. I believe it shows a good contrast. Please comment.

Fish Story
Here is a picture of swirls and bubbles and other shapes that could be found underwater for I used silver and shades of blue and few areas of pink that could be the light of the sun under the water. The fish are silver swimming in all directions. To me this image before I really noticed the fish kind of reminded me of 'Starry Night' by a very famous artist. Please comment and share your thoughts.

Leaf
'Leaf' is a coloring page that I used vivid colors from dark purple to blues to orange intermixed with pink in the center. I did this to draw focau to the center of the page. I used light shades around the 'Leaf' for contrast'. One of the colors for the border was Cadet blue. The purple used in the corners I kind of used them like quotation marks to show emphasis on the center. Please comment.

The Neighborhood
When I first saw this coloring page I thought "Wow!" what detail to color. In the end I decided to use colored pencil and crayon and colored the roofs several different colors in various shades. At time I thought maybe since there was so much detail as in the windows and doors as well as some had bricks and small balconies it would have been kind of fun to do that way, but then again that would require a little bit more colors that I have. Actually, I think this would make a great jigsaw puzzle. Please comment.

'Floral Arrangement' is a coloring page that I used more crayons but using light shades of color from light pinks and blues to light green and yellow. There are a few red and dark blue to show some contrast in flowers. Please comment and share your thought it would be truly appreciated. When I exhibit these images it is like I am having a mini-art show.

Buttons or Medals
Here is a coloring page that I call 'Buttons and Medals' for the design reminded me of different kinds of these objects. I used vivid colors of red-orange, purples and blues and greens all in crayon. Crayon to me is a medium not only for kids for I like how bright some images appear in using this medium. Please share your thoughts and comments on this picture.

Hearts and Smiles
Here is a coloring page the I entitled 'Hearts and Smiles'. I mainly used red, pink, orange and a color the is named macaroni and cheese. I was using an old box of Crayola crayons and I am not sure if they still name colors of odd things, but I think that the color of macaroni and cheese finished the picture pretty well. Please share your thoughts on this one for it would really be appreciated.

Hats
'Hats' is one when I started thought it was a picture of small heads for some reason, but when I started coloring I noticed there were no faces under the hats. I used crayons from light to dark, as in peach and yellow to dark purple. If you colored this page how would you have seen it? Please comment.

Floral patterns
Here is a coloring page that I entitled 'Floral Patterns'. I used colored pencils and crayon on this image. I thought the gray in the outlines of shapes of the leaves was a good contrast to colors of the flowers in some of the circles and the berries throughout the picture. Please share your comments.
